The Way of Tea
Cha Dao, “The Way of Tea,” is an ancient Chinese practice of preparing and sharing Tea as a way of cultivating presence and relationship. I have been practicing within the Global Tea Hut tradition for nearly seven years, gradually learning the discipline of serving Tea in ceremony and the quiet art of listening and tuning in.
Through ceremony, we learn to relate to Tea as a teacher and a meditative practice. The practice asks very little beyond our willingness to be present and receptive. Over time, we learn to pay attention.
I serve Living Tea, high-quality teas grown in the old ways, often from old-growth trees and traditional tea gardens. Some are fresh and vibrant, while others, such as aged puerh, have been fermented and transformed over decades.
